Dispensing categories
The dispensing category decides who may supply a medicine. Swissmedic sets it in the authorisation decision and it applies per strength.
ATC
The WHO ATC code assigns every medicine to an organ system and a pharmacological class. The first character is the anatomical main group.

Directory
Every Swiss authorisation carries five facts: the five-digit authorisation number, the name, the authorisation holder, the medicinal product code and the dispensing category. Every detail page shows those five fields in the same order.
